Application for Assessment
There are three entry routes to PSB’s process and Candidate membership in your Provincial/Territorial Institute or Association (PTIA):
- Accredited Degree – for holders of a degree from a university planning program accredited by PSB, the American Planning Accreditation Board (PAB) or the Planning
Institute of Australia. Please note you must have commenced your degree during the time the program was accredited, and it must have been conferred within seven (7) years of the expiration of such accreditation
- Reciprocal Professional Membership – for planners who are certified members of an international planning institute with which the profession has a reciprocal agreement. Currently, these are the American Institute of Certified Planners (US) and the Planning Institute of Australia (Australia)
- Prior Learning Assessment Recognition – for planners who hold any academic degree, domestic or international, other than a university degree in planning from a program formally accredited by PSB, PAB
The criteria for each level of assessment may be found on the “Entry Routes” page, and the applications themselves are available on the “Apply Now” page. The applications contain the information you will need to provide in order that your assessment can be completed by PSB.
